Having fished Llandegfedd for the past 4yrs,I am giving it a miss this year, cos I 'm off to tobago....trevalle's,jack's,....and hot!!
It really depends on conditions on the day, from the pier most of the boats head to the to right corner, but you can find fish just about all over, the middle is very deep, the far bank by the inlet falls very steeply, try by the cages using smaller lures, the bigger lures seem to spook more fish than catch them,I've taken plenty of fish on floating rapalla magnum redheads, don't assume all the fish are deep (most danglers seem to think they are all on the bottom and try only fast sinking lures along the bottom, and never seem to use shallo lures!!!)if they did they might be surprised,I gave up on jerks years ago, maybe I'm missing out but I never found success on them. You can get some good fish on deads, just retrieve them on short jerks at a slugs pace, small herrings or smelt I found best.Dont be affraid to ask the rangers they can give you some good UP TO DATE info.
