Yes, the church and the homeschooling group were positively scandalized when we broke up. Everyone was shocked, because we did such a good job of covering up everything on the outside, pretending like everything was okay. And when things had started getting bad, and I tried to tell them we can't keep doing all these things, we can't be on the worship team, and teach Sunday School, and run the food closet, and teach Vacation Bible School, and go door to door in the neighborhood, etc, etc, etc, because we are having problems, we need to work on fixing things at home -- again, no one would listen, we were scolded for backing out of our church repsonsibilities, and we were advised against "secular" counseling.
So when I moved out to my sister's house, yeah, tongues were wagging and folks were reeling.
And I just found out that even though my ex kept going to that church, the pastor abruptly told him that they couldn't have a divorced man on the worship team. As if it was his fault.
And yep, I'm still working it out as well. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Char. =)
