Change their spots, as long as they insist on believing the same thing as the Spanish inquisitors.
Christians may be "nice" people but ..... give them free reign and the upper hand and they'd turn into the same kind of Inquisitors in a very short time. You can see the cruelty develop, even in small close-knit groups like churches and colonies .... where some individual refuses to embrace the belief correctly.
