I know the feeling! My pups have been wreaking havoc on my phone cord and Ive been missing so many calls lately because of it......lol. I had them in the X-pen until they were 4 weeks old, but then you need to let them out to explore and get familiar with new sights and sounds and smells, and to get socialized with the kids and other critters.
It sure is a pain in the butt, but its all worth it in the end. Misty, I use a program called Early Neurological Stimulation. Have you ever tried this? Its wonderful, and use it for the Chihuahuas and the Dobes. Im dont know too much about rat terrier, but I think its safe to say that any breed would benefit from it.
