Posted by Stephanie on 5/21/2003, 5:21 pm Pros: First off I think these songs are going to sound great in concert. They have a great energy to them. Definately more 'raw' than V was, more of a 'guitar album', if you know what I mean. Pat's bass stands out a bit more. Cons: I wish Live would get back to writing music together. It's Ed mainly writing the music nowadays, and I'm not liking that too much. Also, I've never been much a fan of Ed's voice. Unfortunately, I'm still feeling this way, maybe not as much as with V. But it's tolerable LOL. My fave songs so far are "The Sanctity of Dreams" and "Sweet Release". I'd like to thank Pat for his wonderful work on the album. He has never disappointed me. Cheers, PS: Live did a tremendous job on "Conan O'Brien" last night. They played "Heaven" and it rocked. Hehe for some reason I cried! It's a pretty emotional song I guess, or maybe their performance somehow reminded me of the old days. Dunno. Anyway, Pat played a neat little bass part at the end of the song that's not on the album (as the album version just fades out). The best thing is just watching Pat lose himself in the music. I'm sure you Pat fans know what I mean: he closes his eyes and just sways his head to the music.

I will have a more detailed review of each song soon, but I'll give my first impressions of the album:
