Greetings, loyal internet traveler and welcome to tonight's program "V is for Very Ordinary" a look on the commercialization of punk and everything else. This program is not meant to offend, only to inform of the inevitable commercialization of every concept known to mankind.
I know what you all are thinking, "Where the hell is the latest information on Powerman 5000?" Posting the same information about the same topic a thousand times over would begin to become less interesting after a while. In my first serious post on this website, I stated that my topics would be centered around the band but with other topics occasionally. Maybe I'll post more information on the band itself soon or perhaps not, I have not decided. So for the time being, kick back, stop rolling your eyes and let the horrors of today's world begin!!
Well the public has finally managed to do it, it's by far the largest accomplishment of their time; the destruction of punk and the concept behind it that created a false "revolution." How it is possible that they managed to ruin an original style and the individualistic concept that many like-minded and free-spirited individuals stood behind. It used to be about non-conformity, don't follow the system because the system itself is corrupt and the sheep that believe and obey the system often lead boring, unfulfilled lives. The idea of "rebellion" has been commercialized, a fake revolution has been born with nothing to counter it. How do you rebel against "rebellion" when the theory itself has become popular?
Commercialization of punk began around 2006 when skulls began popping up on articles of everyday clothing. It was infrequent at first but not long after that, they started appearing on everything that can manufactured, including the Frisbee. These are not the edgy skulls engulfed in flames or with snakes pouring out of their eyes, these are cutesy, cartoon-like skulls with heart-shaped eyes and pastel pink bows on their heads. It is the trendy version of the former rebellious favorite. Some leading clothing name-brands are even using them on their fashion and purse designs (One famous label uses the trademarked phrase "Love Kills Slowly.") For a while, these modernized skulls were kinda cool, in a dumb, trendy way until they were plastered on bright, neon clothing that resembled more of an eyesore than eye-candy. I'm surprised they didn't revive spiked-collars and neck-ties, but it seems it will only be a matter of time before those old-favorites will be ruined too.
Then vampires became somewhat of a fashion-statement. Ever since the bestselling series Twilight the world has been thrusted into a bizarre and outrageous vampire frenzy. The aforementioned novel ripped-apart the horror and eccentricity of the nocturnal blood-suckers and turned them into romantic, trendy public icons. They no longer terrify the typical cult-classic lover, instead their romantic side appeals to the public masses (mainly teenage females and even adult women.) As a result, other aspiring authors hope to make it big by writing off-shoots of the popular Twilight novels (The Vampire Diaries and Blue Bloods are good examples.) Since most teenage girls are fascinated with the nocturnal creatures, the sensible people that express their discontent with this whole craze can expect an unfortunate and early demise or at least complete isolation from the teenage masses.

(Did you not believe me when I said that almost the entire female race's existence revolves around vampires and in particular, Edward Cullen?) They are selling t-shirts promoting "teams" of characters on the official website. A waste of material if you desire my honest opinion. This is a demonstration of the crowd's reaction to anything related to vampires and the fact that this person cannot seem to spell "Patterson" or "Totally" correctly because they are in such haste to post their never-ending love for the series and their idol is highly amusing (but disturbing) at the same time.

Stephen King: "the real difference (between Rowling and Meyer) is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer, and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good.
If the master of horror does not give his blessing on this series, then you know it must not be worthwhile.

Edward why dont you exist???
(No commentary on this one because the host is too busy rolling around on the floor, laughing.)

Where are the awesome Vampires like Alucard, Dracula or Vincent Valentine!?
As of right now, they are turning in their coffins at the prospect of becoming mainstream.
(This was not meant to offend fans of the book or lovers of the "new" vampires but it ties in with the obliteration of punk.)
Common teenagers on the street are flaunting their modernized punk fashion and waving their neon colored flags of so-called "Rebellion!" Most aren't doing it because they truly believe in the concept behind punk, they are only doing it because it's all the rage and a lot of singers are promoting this style (like a certain Canadian pop/punk singer that we all know and love.) Teenagers are even streaking their hair with an assortment of colors to declare their devotion to this false revolution. Punk used to be bizarre and quirky with the concept of individualism behind it and now it has become commercialized along with vampires to the point of where it is nothing out of the ordinary and there is nothing innovative or fun about it. It's all about appealing to the masses and making money off of their impressionable minds. The spirit of punk and vampires will never truly "die" but it will be ripped up, torn apart and commercialized until it is barely recognizable and better off "dead."
This is the way of the public, demolish anything that has some sort of value with commercialization. Punk and vampires are only the prologue of the events to follow, pretty soon everything will not hold any sense of value but be used for consumerism and public-appeal purposes only. Prophecies may not be referring to the End of the World in a literal sense, but the end of our individuality and sense of identity. Unless you, internet traveler, can do something to revolutionize the current way of thinking and the system that we live by then humankind is officially screwed.
Thank you, loyal internet traveler, for tuning into our nightly broadcasts. Your loyalty is much appreciated. As always, comments and suggestions are welcome (although it is highly doubtful that you will actually reply.) Be sure to tune into future broadcasts and more sarcastic commentary. This is Khaos-X-Revolution (Kat) signing off.
