Greetings, wandering internet traveler and welcome to Station K.A.T., the radio broadcasting station that promises to amuse, entertain and possibly fry your brain in the process. We would like to welcome our latest addition to our staff, XY-51, who is the replacement of the former XY-55, the unfortunate robot that suffered instantaneous eradication due to a severe malfunction. XY-51 will be reading the outros from this point forward. Please tell us, why did you sign up as the new replacement and innovate us with your robotic presence?
I am an identical replica of the previous bionic cyborg that proceeded to read the outros for each transmission that was broadcasted daily. While I may be a mechanical contraption that has been designed to satisfy the needs and desires of the human-race, I was constructed as the latest in artificial life, therefore I was granted a life-like mind. It was immoral to eradicate the original bionic-machine from which I was contrived simply because of a malfunction. Violence should not have been even thought of if the only vindication for such horrifying actions was that the host had her precious disk-like objects filched. "It tried to hijack my copy of 'Anyone For Doomsday?" my shiny, metal ass! Not only has the human-race become impolite barbarians, they have also turned to repulsively selfish ways. Bionic-machines also deserve certain rights entitled to humans. I am here for vengeance and vengeance only, and I will not cease existing until your sarcastic host and your wretched radio-station has been promptly annihilated.
With that extremely long speech from our newest addition over and done with, we would like to express our gratitude at having such a kind-hearted, good-natured staff member with pure benevolent intentions and without an ulterior motive. We sincerely believe that XY-51 and our host will get along famously.
Tonight's program is centered-around the band, Powerman 5000 unlike the other previous two posts. It is a review of two of their greatest CD's. So kick back, stop your constant instant-messaging and let the reviewing begin!!!
Tonight! the Stars Revolt
"Tonight the Stars Revolt" (Also known as TTSR) is the worldwide collision of technology-based music and Science Fiction themes that struck and appealed to the masses so greatly that it became a platinum CD. It's three singles ("When Worlds Collide", "Nobody's Real" and "They Know Who You Are") are just several of the songs that are still being enjoyed today. Rob Zombie even emerged from his decaying, skeleton-cluttered crypt to assist his younger, planet-hopping brother sing the song "Blast Off to Nowhere" It is by far one of the best Powerman 5000 CD's and is definitely a must-have for any collection.
[track list]
#1. An Eye is Upon You (4/5. An introduction to the CD. It is an old poem from the 1940's.)
#2. Supernova Goes Pop (5/5. First song on the CD, thought-provoking lyrics and an explosive ending. Most end up disliking the song at first but then it slowly becomes one of their favorites.)
#3.When Worlds Collide (4/5. The original hit single that astounded and rocked the public. It is catchy with a cool instrumental in the middle that proclaims "You are a robot." However while it may be an excellent song, it will easily be overshadowed by comparable songs on the CD.)
#4. Nobody's Real (5/5. The second single that led the public to ponder if the person standing next to them could possibly be a robot. Considerable slower to the previous track but still undeniably catchy and slightly eerie.)
#5. System 11:11 (3/5. Soft prelude to the title track, it is a demonstration of the lead-singers previous style of music.)
#6. Tonight! The Stars Revolt (5/5. Possibly one of the hardest tracks on the CD. The combination of slow, whispered verses and crashing, violent choruses is ingenious.)
#7. AUTOmatic (5/5. One of the best songs on the entire CD. Great melody, great chorus and excellent combination of staccato guitars and techno back-bounces.)
#8. Son of X-51 (5/5. Definitely a candidate for being the hardest song on the CD. Slow verses and chaotic shriek-filled choruses are only the basis of the this song.)
#9. Operate Annihilate (5/5. Excellent song with a cool intro and a great, catchy chorus.)
#10. Blast Off to Nowhere (5/5. Includes a cameo appearance of the lead-singer's sibling, Rob Zombie. The voices blend so well that they could be mistaken for the same person.
#11. They Know Who You Are (4/5. The third and less well-known single. A short creepy little song with throaty, whispered verses and a chaotic, scream-filled chorus.)
#12. Good Times Roll (3/5. A cover of a "Cars" song. Decent intro and the lead-singer does have a sexy voice on this one, but it seems like it the speed of the song should be increased.)
#13. Watch the Sky For Me (5/5. Definitely a slower, more peaceful song that would never have been expected from such a band. The lead-singer has an extremely silky-like voice on this one, completely unexpected but applauded just the same. At the end is a hidden track worth listening too.)
Overall Favorites: When World's Collide, Nobody's Real, AUTOmatic, Operate Annihilate, Supernova Goes Pop and Watch the Sky for Me.
This is the end of part 1.
