When Worlds Collide:
What is it really, that's going on here?
You've got your system for total control
Now is there really anybody out there
Now watch us suffer cause we can't go
What is it really that is in your head
What little life that you had just died
I'm gonna be the one that's taking over
Now this is what it's like when worlds collide!
Are you ready to go
Cause I'm ready to go
What are you gonna do baby, baby
Are you going with me
Cause I'm going with you
It's the end of all time
What is it really that motivates you
The need to fly or this fear to stop
I'll go along, but then you'll realize
When we get there I say 9 or 10 drop
Now who's the light and who is the devil
You can't decide so I'll be your guide
And one by one they will be hand chosen
Now this is what it's like when worlds collide
(chorus)
What is it really when they're falling over
Everything that you thought is denied
I'm gonna be the one that's taking over
Now this is what it's like when worlds collide
Are you ready?
Cause' I'm ready
Are you going?
Yeah, I'm going
That's the end of all time!
I have obviously chosen this song because it appears to be one of the more popular ones. This song is about the impending apocalypse (Gee, could it be due to a collision between planets?) and the attempt to escape or it could be about non-conformity.
Scary monsters
And super peeps
The more you dream the less you sleep
Life as you know it
Has gone away
Unbound, unwound who's here to stay, alright!
Nobody's real, but they're willing to let you know
Nobody's real, but they'll feel it tonight
Nobody's real, but they're willing to let you go
Nobody's real, but they'll feel it...!
How do you sleep
With the time that's left you?
It's all been done
There's no need for the rescue
So let's just get out
I swear there's no doubt
You can't be ready cause there's nothing left to do okay!
(chorus)
Another well-known, well-liked song about paranoia and the fact that the people you know and care for may not be who you think they are...
Our regular host has requested that additional interpretations of each song be posted...
(Additional Interpretations for When World's Collide.)

I think this song is about two completely uncompatible people who are trying to fit in but circumstances f*ck everything up, or about aliens taking over the world... this is a pretty dam abstract song when it comes to the meaning, but it F*CKING ROCKS!
Yeah this was the song that has got me addicted by Powerman 5000 and eradicated any last fragments of my sanity...which rocks!!

this is one heck of an awesome song, i just got the cd with this song, Tonight the Stars Revolt. It is one piece of work. Awesome cd, and this song is probably the best. I did find the music a little different at first, but you really grow to love it. Their videos are kinda cool too.
Who would've thought that there is an actual band out there that used to play Futuristic/Science Fiction-like music? That's pretty awesome in it's own right and the fact that the band actually does an excellent job singing this style is an added bonus.

the lyrics posted are somewhat wrong, basically i think the song is about 2 totally different people in their own little worlds and 1 person (the singer) is saying he will hang out with the opposite person but he will do everything to try to change them to 'his world'
Um...interesting interpretation (not sure if it makes sense) and I haven't looked at in that way.
(One other commenter suggests that the song has a "sexual" meaning behind it, lovely imagery, I appreciated it!)
(The Additional Song Interpretation is for "Supernova Goes Pop")

i think this song is talking about, you know, a band, and they are really good at first, but not many people know about them. But then they start getting popular, and soon, they arent about the music any more, just making money, and they are so full of themselves.
Like most of the generic, mainstream rock-groups that have been commercialized and promoted to the point of where they have become the latest "trend?" I used to detest this song and then it grew on me to the point of where it is one of my favorite songs.
(Additional Song Interpretations are for "Watch the Sky for Me")

every band has a song that is odd from the rest.. this would be PM5k's..
No one seems to think that this quirky song has potential, what a shame, I think it's one of their best songs. The lead singer has an excellent voice on this one and the lyrics seem unexpectedly peaceful (who would've thought...?)

This song sounds like it is some guy on the phone [cuz that is how it sounds] on the phone talking to some chick that broke up with him or something along those lines...either way..it sounds like some guy on the phone
Your comment sounds like there is some guy on a computer is posting about song lyrics that he has obviously not listened to thoroughly enough to...either way...it sounds like there is some guy on a computer!

This song is fantastic because it's so different from everything else they sing. Sounds sort of 40s, and sort of talking-through-a-telephone.
Is it just me or is today's generation completely fascinated with telecommunication? Perhaps he isn't talking on a telephone, perhaps he speaking through a flipping microphone, have you considered that possibility, naive internet traveler??
Thank you, loyal internet for tuning into tonight's broadcast "In-Depth Song Analysis Vol. 0.1" as always, your input is always welcome, especially if it praises my bionic superiority (Wait...you said if I was tied up, I could join your maniacal robotic revolution!) Be sure to tune into tomorrow's broadcast for more extensive analysis's of each song (And finally I get to comment on "Transform!!!") This is Station K.A.T. signing off.
...
Due to the large number of pissed off robots congregating outside of our office, this transmission has been brought you commercial-free!
