"A Is For Apathy"
I wanna be
The richest American
I wanna live
Out on the street
So many reasons
To just do nothing
To walk around
Like you're out on your feet
So here we are
Now running in circles
We shoulda listened
To H.G. Wells
We're living in
The age of frustration
We're giving in
But we can't even tell
And all you need
Is one good reason
One good reason
You don't believe
You want a mapped out
Blank Existence
So you don't feel stupid
Before you leave
Everybody's here but nobody showed up
A is for apathy
For apathy
For apathy
A is for apathy
For apathy
For apathy
For apathy
for apathy
For apathy
For apathy
for apathy
For apathy
I wanna be
The richest American
I wanna live
Out on the street
So many reasons
To just do nothing
Don't walk around
Like your out on your feet
Everybody's here but nobody showed up
Everybody's here but nobody showed up
A is for Apathy
For Apathy
For Apathy
A is for Apathy
For Apathy
For Apathy
Just do nothing
A is for Apathy
For Apathy
For Apathy
A is for Apathy
For Apathy
For Apathy
A is for Apathy
For Apathy
For Apathy
A is for Apathy
For Apathy
For Apathy
(Green says go,
Blood red stop
You gotta hit the bottom
Before you hit the top
So make the call
Which side you on
Back with the weak
Go down with the strong)
(Do you understand
Its not too late!)
Basically doing nothing with gain you absolutely nothing in return, so get off your lazy rear-end and do something with yourself before you end up working at a fast-food joint! Being apathetic about your own fate will lead to suffering in the end, so actually take time to look at the direction in life you desire to take. Come on, this is common sense (Were you all born without it?)
Additional Song Interpretations:
Person 1 wrote:
A is for apathy. (Letter)-is for-(object) is a way of teaching children their ABCs. So I believe the song is saying that we're constantly teaching our children to be apathetic as a way to defend them against the disappointment that they will eventually have to face in the world. If you don't care, you can't be disappointed. Do you understand? It's not to late. We don't have to raise a generation of sociopaths.
That's just my take though.
Exactly why I don't want children. Instead of apathy, perhaps we should try empathy. You know, the outlandish concept of actually caring for our fellow man.

Words of Spider One:
"A Is For Apathy" says, "I want to be the richest American" and "I want to live out on the street." But since the song is written from an apathetic point of view, it doesn't matter which of those options you get. My favorite line is, "So many reasons to just do nothing." That just sums it up. And we all suffer from that.
(Curiosity strikes me; has the lead singer ever suffered from an apathetic viewpoint on the game of life, perhaps he is implying that he has...?)
"Stereotype"
Trap door in every step
Truth is I can't connect
Move along I work in stages
Where you at
It looks like cages
See a little, see a lot
Come around see what you're not
Up and down, but never out
Last one here is left to shout
You’re just a stereo
Stereo
Stereo
You’re just a stereotype
(You’re just a stereotype)
You’re just a stereo
Stereo
Stereo
You’re just a stereotype
(You’re just a stereotype)
Sometimes the worst is best
Pick it up and beat the rest
Dig deep to find every scrap
Tragedy can make you laugh
Sign up and sell your soul
What's that
It's rock and roll
Don’t get it, you never learn
Where it's cold, it's where you burn
You’re just a stereo
Stereo
Stereo
You’re just a stereotype
(You’re just a stereotype)
You’re just a stereo
Stereo
Stereo
You’re just a stereotype
(You’re just a stereotype)
You’re just a stereo
You’re just a stereo
You’re just a stereotype
Oh yeah!
You’re just a stereo
You’re just a stereo
You’re just a stereotype
Yeah, yeah, alright
Now gather round
Look what I found
For you to duplicate
It's easy now
To hear the sound
It's time to recreate
You’re evil rebel tortured soul has been rejected
Now walk the line and act exactly as expected
Let’s go!
You’re just a stereo
Stereo
Stereo
You’re just a stereotype
(You’re just a stereotype)
You’re just a stereo
Stereo
Stereo
You’re just a stereotype
(You’re just a stereotype)
You’re just a stereo
You’re just a stereo
You’re just a stereotype
Oh yeah!
You’re just a stereo
You’re just a stereo
You’re just a stereotype
You’re just a stereotype
You’re just a stereotype
You’re just a stereotype
You’re just a stereotype
[in reverse:] You’re just a stereotype
Another one of my favorite songs. Everybody these days seems to fit a stereotype (some more than others.) For a simple example, check out the preppy, giggly girls that dress in eye-blinding colors and gossip on the latest cellular devices, those all belong to the cliche known as "Popularity" (Yes, conformity can lead to this horrifying outcome, so beware!)
Additional Song Interpretation:
Person 1 was kind enough to write:
this is a song about how people have to classify everything in order to keep order...
when everything/one dosent need a label.
Today's generation is fascinated with labels. They will frequently ask "Well what are you? A prep, a punk-rocker or emo?" (None of the above. I'm Kat, can your MTV-stuffed brains comprehend that?!) Things don't require labels as labels and stereotypes are superficial, there's more to life than meets the eye!
"Transform"
Aw yeah...
How come everything is not like it used to be
And how come everything is never the same
Your head spins, turns around a look of confusion
This can't be real, I think it’s only a game
They said it one way
You’re going one way to be
And I can’t believe in those words
The truth is there is no truth
Mystified, can't compute
Well I said forget about everything you’ve heard
You won’t last that long
You won’t last that long
You might as well transform
You won't last
You won't last
How come everything is not like it used to be
And how come everything is never the same
There you wanna, gonna get, first time, last place
Nothing stays the same here, including your name
I’ve seen it all twice before
They try to be original
Disappoint the way of the world
The truth is there is no truth
Mystified, can't compute
Well I said forget about everything you’ve heard
You won’t last that long
You won’t last that long
You might as well transform
You won’t last
You won’t last
( Oh yeah, baby - be your right man; that’s the truth )
( Hey, hey, hey; hey, hey, hey )
( Hey, hey, hey; hey, hey, hey )
What's the meaning
You must be dreaming
To want the meaning of life
I heard you screaming
To know the meaning
To know the meaning of life
You won’t last that long
You won’t last that long
You might as well transform
You won’t last, you won’t last
You won’t last that long ( you won’t last that long )
You won’t last that long ( you won’t last that long )
You might as well transform ( you might as well transform )
You won’t last
You won’t last
You won’t last that long
You won’t last that long
You might as well transform
You won’t last
You won’t last
You won’t last that long
You won’t last that long
You might as well transform
You won’t last
You won’t last
Might as well be yourself and live life to it's fullest as your existence in this world is unfortunately short (for the love of God, try and appreciate it puh-lease!)
(What I love so much about my fellow PM5K supporters is their fierce protectiveness of the band itself and the fact that one PM5 fan alone can face and overtake an argument of musical tastes is utterly amazing. Imagine the advantage we have in numbers, WHOO!)
