Thankyou Mr.D and I concure wrt irritating habits ... some time ago I was a newly hired chap at BP where one's department was usually abbreviated in my case Central Maintenance Department to CMD. Met this irritating chap Chris Dyos at a training course . He said "What did you do at university Steve", I mumbled the response hoping nobody would hear the letters UEA. He brightly replied, "Oh I did sums at Cats, now I'm working in DRC - whats your TLA " I soon found out that the latter part of his sentence indicated he was working in the Development, Reservoir Characterisation Department (DRC) and TLA ....why of course .. Three Letter Acronym. The doing of sums at Cats was harder to figure out. Then a distant St Nicks memory came to me; it was of Mr Ralph Birch at Exam time when we we taking GCE O Level Maths and others the A Level paper at the same time through a quirk of scheduling. His words ... ? "The Mathematics A Level Paper will stop at 4pm , for those of you doing Sums, three thirty"
