Posted by John Hawley I must say that he was well known for his use of the Banda Machine (of less than Blessed Memory); filling the staff room with clouds of noxious vapours. Yes, Roger was an Oxford Man and an Old Gaytonian; keeping in touch with a number of "Old Gayts" through his running and athletic activities. It would be my proposal to have a beer and curry night at the Bina, in Roger's memory. Sadly, Martin, the "Singing Waiter", has now passed to the Great Curry House in the Sky and will not be there to complete the picture with his serenade.

I would also add that Roger was Housemaster of the very successful Bec House and representative for the NUT in the staff room. He held the post of Chairman of the Common Room for a year in the 1980s.
