Doctors in the House...

Just wondering why only the Beak was called by his title "Dr" when there were several St Nicks teaching staff with PhD's Was there some sort of protocol issue with the school staff? Our favorite Chemistry Teacher for example should have been addressed as "Dr Fulljames" to give her propers. Wasn't Mr Pratt a PhD too? And "Bomber" Plenderleith was a Captain in the RAF wasn't he?
