The letters after his name were actually GRSM FRCO. Sad that I remember that, I suppose. This stood for [I think] Graduate of the Royal Schools of Music and Fellow of the Royal College of Organists. The result is the same though - he was a fantastic organist and despite his classical pedigree, was very open to some of the whackier musical tastes that we represented.
