Posted by John Hawley Was there a motto? Answers please. The plan is to present the two items at the half-day event at the SNOBs Rugby Club, Oak Avenue, Ickenham starting at noon on Saturday October 1st. There is a glass display case for the stained glass and the plaque will either go in that or be screwed to the wall. SNOBSRFC want as many people as possible who have played or had any connection with the club at the free noon buffet. There will be matches starting at 3.00pm and socialising until late! Do let your friends know and make this another great event. Further details on the website: www.snobrfc.co.uk. John Hawley

I am pleased to say that I have now secured, from Haydon, the stained glass showing the St Nicholas crest/shield. This was taken from the window high up on the north side of the St. Nick's assembly hall when the building was converted to classrooms, offices and Sixth Form Centre in 1996. I would like to thank Mr Peter Woods, Headmaster at Haydon, for this item. I understand that Gerald Miller photographed this for the front of the Reunion programme. The depiction is, as you may recall (as it was on the blazer badge too), of the three gold money purses and a bishop's mitre.
