True, the theme of the book was not going to appeal to everyone, but nothing ever does. If it had been your run of the mill action book debuting in 2004, we'd all be saying, "Boy that She-Hulk book was good, too bad they cancelled it, who would write a good book like that again?". Because the book was out of left field, people were like WTF and rightfully so.
Because the book was SO different then anything that came out at the time, it gained attention and from big places, as can now be seen. True, it was never a top ten hit for Marvel but it had steady sales that kept it from disappearing into the ashbin of comic book history.
Either way while the book may lose some of its fans from Dan Slott's run, the book will probably do quite well due to it being more a mainstream superhero book and PAD has his own fanbase as well.
