If the book did NOT last, people would not be cheering on PAD's debut, debating the Slott run or any of that. You'd see posts saying, "Oh man, I wish there was a She-Hulk being published", "When will we see a new solo She-Hulk book?", "Who would be your ideal She-Hulk creative team?", "Why is Marvel disrespecting She-Hulk?".
This is a VERY tight market, more so for the secondary characters. Again, to make a second stringer last in 2007 takes more then it did in the 70's or 80's; you've got to fight like hell for that audience, and that audience is very nitpicky.
