Since Giant Hulk #1 has She-Hulk fighting Red Hulk on the cover, I trust that match-up will be more satisfying than what happened in this issue. But I don't think that the Red Hulk is Robert Bruce Banner. I think Jeff Loeb is setting this Hulk up to be someone else, and we are supposed to figure out who.
For me, it seems too easy. Of all the possible suspects, what character has the most motive to kill the Abomination---something that not even the real Hulk could bring himself to do? What character would feel most comfortable using a gun to kill a character EVEN AS A HULK? What character almost resembles the Red Hulk? Finally, what character (so far) has been present or nearby when the Red Hulk attacked the SHIELD Helicarrier?
That's right...Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross.
I don't know how Ross is managing to find a change of clothes so quickly. He certainly doesn't seem to be bothered or troubled by being a Hulk. But to my eye, all the signs seems to be pointing towards him as the Red Hulk.
