This was a good issue. I have to hand it to Van Lente his Osborn and Captain Marvel were fun to read, and the Sentry talking to reporters made me laugh(I still can't stand him) but I did like his arrogance.
We find out that Lyra has two weaknesses. Her anger causes her to become extremely weak and being bombarded with excessive gamma radiation also weakens her. Page 8 is where I have to give Van Lente much praise for being the first writer to write it. It's actually one of my theories about the Hulk's limitless strength and power and the reservoir from which he draws it, nature itself.
[I wish I could scan it]
"For this is as it should be.
All parents wish their children to surpass them.
Strength and wisdom lie not in wrath...but in serenity.
You shall soon see that the gamma rays that course your body are everywhere, radiated by the universe itself.
Once you see that and master the autotrance under our guidance...when you are calm, when you are centered, you will not know where you end and the gamma rays begin.
And then you cannot be defeated.
Or deceived."
This was pure genius on Van Lente's part to delve into the meta-metaphysical aspects of gamma radiation.
Lyra also seems to have some of her father's Gray Hulk personality, allowing herself to be caught to get closer to her goal.
The scene with Lyra kissing Norman made me sick to my stomach. LOL supposedly he's the greatest hero of 'back in the day' and Lyra wants his kids. I can't wait to see where this is going.
