: It's a sad fact that... you're always going to
: get ####ed by continuity if you're a writer
: for Marvel - I recall PAD recounted a story
: of his time on Incredible Hulk on this very
: board that amounted to him going to pains
: explaining why something happening was dumb
: as hell and him being... none too happy.
: There wasn't really ANY reason for She-Hulk
: to not be at Stark's throat for the whole
: thing... that would have made it more
: interesting, really. Regardless of
: continuity cluster####s, I think PAD took
: his own idea and ran with it - maybe I'd
: have liked a bit more on the duality issue
: (as Slott did) but I think overall, his run
: was pretty cool. It was just that jarring
: "Oh, that She-Hulk!" to "Damn
: She-Hulk, save it for your blog!"
: transition that threw people. I feel bad for
: PAD, really. He did great things with the
: Matrix Supergirl, then DC went and yanked
: the rug from under him... but at least he
: had the chance to DO stuff in that and give
: it an ending. There was a lot unresolved in
: his run with Jen.
It sucked that he had to work around the Hulk book. But more people were reading that than her own book so I guess he had no choice. Again this was down to bad communication between the books. Though we did get a cool LL arc.
: The Lady Liberators deserve a paragraph of
: their own... given the fact most Marvel
: teams deal in the token female (or maybe
: two) I really think that given Marvel's
: apparent YEAR OF WOMEN, this would have been
: a good time to at least TRY something like a
: Lady Liberators team... well, maybe they
: could rework the name and the members... but
: the concept was good and Jen would have been
: a great team leader. Seriously, there are a
: lot of under used female heroes that could
: get put on that rota to actually give them
: some face time. I suppose even in the YEAR
: OF WOMEN, Marvel is scared to push a big
: female title.
I think they are with Heralds, though I would like to see an LL. Jen does deserve her chance to lead a team. Ms Marvel has lead two teams, Wasp has led the Avengers and I am betting even Spider-Woman has led a team. It would nice her to have a chance. Maybe she will in Worlds War Hulks but that is wishful thinking.
: She-Hulk fandom is the definition of a
: fractious fanbase. I wish it was
: otherwise... Spidergirl is kept alive by a
: community that is unified, I'm pretty sure
: at least half the people on this board
: didn't bother with Slott OR PAD and were
: then angered at the cancellation of the
It is and its a real shame.
: You know, I'd actually kind of LIKE Jen to
: have her own kid - to quote Roz from
: Frasier, even the most effective birth
: control is only 99% effective... how can I
: beat those odds?! - provided she was a
: working mother... but yes, her and Lyra
: would be a good partnership, I think...
: although, Thundra might be a tad peeved...
: Regardless it would be good. I also wonder
: if Lyra could teach Jen her gamma-fu... or
: if Lyra can power down. Idle speculation,
It would be interesting. Jen and Lyra do make a cool team. I think Thundra wouldn't be that peeved, Jen is the type of woman that Thundra would approve of to take care of her daughter. I think Lyra might be teaching her Hulk-Fu. And Jen teaches her those nerve strikes she learned from Gamora.
: Also, clarify your meaning - when you say
: Jen is back bigger... do you mean in a
: working-out-to-hulk-out-bigger sense?
That is what I was refering to
