As I've said before - I think the fact She-Hulk fans will go into a huff and throw their toys out the pram when it's not "their" She-Hulk is pretty much a death sentence for a solo title. I hope that the fanbom will grow and not be made of such petulant ####ing children in future. There is not liking a representation of Jen and then just actively making sure she gets tossed back down the long ladder of Marvel priortity... because Marvel hate women. In their YEAR OF WOMEN - they've got, what ONE female solo title... out of the THREE teams that got hulkified there were a whole FOUR women... oh and Girl Comics? Horrible, the cover art (of She-Hulk) and the pin-up art (of She-Hulk) were the only thing in there that were of interest. I suppose I might have to ask girls what they thought of it to know if it hit the spot but that seems kind of pointless because Marvel doesn't CARE about anything more than the young male demographic and hence, women will always be second place. Even if they pretend to have a YEAR OF WOMEN. One does not need a womb to be vexed by Marvel's (or DC's) treatment of the other gender.
Jennifer is different to her cousin... really only in personality. She is - after all - a female distaff, created for the purposes of copyright. Naturally, she has far exceeded the framework Stan Lee gave her - thank goodness for that, I cringe every time I re-read Savage She-Hulk #1 it's HORRIBLE - but she is still essentially a female Hulk, I suppose they never explicitly say she gets stronger if she gets mad (gasp - more Marvel sexism?!) although PAD did pretty much say that in his run... but she has an identical power set, albeit with control... so it's not REALLY surprising why people equate her and the Hulk. Despite having skills beyond brawling - what with her Avenger training AND stuff before her fight with The Champion - she's still going to be seen as some as just a lady hulk... ah well.
Geiger does indeed copy gamma powers... I was surprised and disappointed Slott didn't use her in Jen's title - that would have been kind of fun, an intern that can't help but hulk out because of Jen... or something. Anyway, her power apparently just tunes into the MOST powerful gamma being... which is, I suppose to stop a mere female being able to walk into a battle between the Hulk and Abomination and just school them both... those pesky women folk! Next think you know, they'll want to vote!
YEAR OF WOMEN!
Yes, get used to be saying that - a lot.
