I totally agree that the same care, time and thought does not seem to be put into the female centric titles by Marvel. Not by the creative teams---I don't mean that at all---but the backing by Marvel. I've felt that way for many a year.
On another note, I do really wish Dan Slott's Reckoning War storyline would take place because that seems a great way to have an event in which She-Hulk is at the center of it.

: Nobody can deny that Marvel never takes the
: same care, puts the same effort or takes the
: same time in nurturing female titles the way
: they do with males. A recent (and
: rare)exception was Spider-Woman and only
: because their top-selling writer was
: interested in her. And even then, look how
: that turned out.
: Let's face it, it's a male-centric industry,
: geared toward males, and as superheroes are
: power fantasies, most guys can't live
: vicariously through or relate to women,
: therefore they are relegated to eye-candy or
: sex objects.
:
: Just compare.
: And the trend I have noticed as of late is
: that whenever a female solo title is
: launched, they give it a more
: "funny" slant, with toony artists
: and lots of puns. As opposed to guys, who
: are marketed with an emphasis on how badass,
: kickass, powerful, whatever they are, and
: using artists who are known for serious
: titles and titles that we're "supposed
: " to take seriously. Therefore, an
: industry-wide domino effect happens, with
: the female titles being dismissed as fluff.
: etc.

: This is a good point, Eddie. Pretty much the
: only reason DC print however many Wonder
: Woman comics they do a year is purely to
: ensure that they don't lose the copyright on
: her...
:
: Certainly solo titles are a different beast
: and when you look at it, yes - it's almost
: entirely long established characters that
: have their solo-runs...
: Spiderman/Superman/Batman etc.
:
: Maybe something along the lines of She-Hulks
: would stand a better chance of lasting the
: test of time? Also, I'd say - toss in
: Geiger... it would make sense to have her
: hanging out with Jen and Lyra, rather than
: languishing in whatever post-Initiative
: state team she's currently in...
