Would they do this to Batman or Superman....no.
Would marvel do this with Wolverine or Spiderman....no. They try new directions and add new characters but still keep the core of the book intact. Aquaman has been a way more dissapointing title than Hawkman and he was given a revamped team and direction that gave him a slight push but fizzeled very fast, so why havent they drasticly screwed him up?...I hear as if issue 40 the title will be changed to Aquaman Sword of Atlantis...he's still there, they haveint replaced him with Mermaid or Tempest or what ever...You know why, because the book wont sell. Aquaman sells the book, not the supporting cast and Hawkman sold this title not Hawkgirl plain and simple so when the powers that be at DC decide that the sales have slipped again it will be the Axe!!!
And thats a ####ing shame! because the book was fine the way it was but some clown thought otherwise. So to whoever thought that this was a good idea and all the fans that think this will work, please let me be the first to say, befor it slides off the sales charts into cancellation...I told you so.
