Hawkman is from earth. He is a reincarnated Eyptian Prince, who had encountered Nth metal from a ship from Thanagar, and yes, later there was a Thanagarian cop who came to Earth to be Hawkman, but I digress. A villain used Nth metal knife to kill Hawkman and his wife Hawkgirl and bound their souls to be reincarnated over and over until they die by the hand of the villain. This continues even today. Confused? It is a little confusing. :-)
