Posted by Walter Simonson on 3/22/2006, 1:08 am, in reply to "Can anyone help?" --Previous Message-- I don't know how successful we'll be but we are trying to set 'HAWKGIRL the comic' up so that you don't have to know the history of the Hawks to read the title. We aren't ignoring the previous history; that informs the character's starting point for the book so to speak. But we are working to include enough information (without drowning a new reader) for the title to make sense on its own. Best/Walter

: Here's the deal. Simonson and Chaykin are,
: IMO, two of the greatest creators ever in
: the field. So if they're doing a project
: together I'm going to check it out. The
: problem is I've never been a huge fan of the
: DC super-hero universe. The only thing I
: know about Hawkman is what he looks like,
: that he's from another planet, and that Tim
: Truman did some work on the character at
: some point. That's it. I didn't even know
: there was a Hawkgirl until I heard about
: Simonson and Chaykin taking over. So can
: anybody give me a brief synopsis of the
: characters, histories, etc.? Just what I'll
: need so that I'm not completely lost.
: Thanks.
