: One of the reasons I lost interest in Hawkman
: was how convoluted the continuity began when
: Hawkworld was published and it was decided
: that it was contemporary. That meant Katar
: Hol couldn't have made the twenty years of
: appearances he'd made up to that point.
: That necessitated retconning Carter Hall
: into the JLA and according to Wikipedia
: another Thanagarian also is the Hawkman in
: pre-Hawkworld appearances. With them having
: moved back a few years the Perez reboot of
: Wonder Woman so she can now at least be said
: to have appeared in her Silver Age
: appearances (I believe Hypolyta remains the
: Golden Age Wonder Woman), why doesn't DC do
: the same with Hawkman? Say that on New
: Earth the Hawkworld mini appears in
: continuity pre-Katar Hol's JLA membership so
: we don't have to be the retcon version of
: contortionists to make sense of all his
: appearances through the years?
: And is the Equalizer Plague still canon?
: That was my introduction to Hawkman and as
: cheesy as it sounds now, it holds a special
: place in my heart.
I don't know about the plague, but I wouldn't lose hope yet. The editors could very well be hammering out this continuity crap. If anyone can benefit from this New Earth, it's the Hawks.
