some people like a certain type and others don't care for it. I guess that's cool. I just wish there was room for a diversity of opinions here on the internet rather than have some people (ie, the original poster) suggest one of my favourites is "crap." Hey you don't like it you don't like it, but does that mean no one can like it?? I guess it sometimes does. Because honestly, how many times do I seek out a new title or artist (or a band) just because someone is berating them mercilessly? It's usually a case of opinions differing (and there are so many hidden gems). And conversely, quite frequently I'm disappointed and kind of befuddled when I check out something everyone simply adores. I almost always go "what was the big deal about THAT?" Oh well, that's life.
: i think chakykins stuff is very much his own
: style so folks either really like or totally
: dislike his stuff, it has a certain old
: school look to it, a little scratchy kinda
: bill scinke...scienq...scinqwits arh hell
: with it you know who i mean,i cant say his
: name right let alone type it
: cheers

: well for starters, when the book was called
: "Hawkman" it was 50 cents cheaper,
: so that definitely contributed to better
: sales (I know it did for me). Second, DC
: clearly wanted to see what the market was
: like for a book featuring a recognizable
: female lead. The answer is disappointing
: (but not surprising). It's really a shame
: because Hawkgirl is my favourite of all the
: OYL books. Too bad so few will give it a
: chance.
:
: And seriously, what is with all the hate for
: Chaykin?? His stuff is GREAT!

: A while back When DC announced the direction
: of the Hawkman title changing to Hawkgirl I
: wrote that this would be a very big mistake
: for DC and looking back at how it was done I
: can honestly say I was right!
: The Sales numbers for Oct, are in and
: Hawkgirl does'int even crack the top 100.
: how sad is that!!
: why did DC do such as stupid move? The art
: went from World Class to plain crap! and the
: story has just dragged on with no real end
: in sight except for Hawkmans return. I
: really dont understand why they had to make
: this switch in direction and teams? I knew
: the Hawkgirl character was not solid enough
: for her own title and the sales shows that
: it was a bad move. If DC wanted to make the
: B-list characters take a bigger role after
: the Crisis then this was their oppertunity
: to do so with Hawkman. Instead they dropped
: the ball and made bad disscions based on
: what seemed to be a Cartoon- driven ideal
: that Hawkgirl would work based off her
: exposer form the Justic League cartoon. How
: Freaken SAD!
: Ok so now I bet the Book gets Cancelled and
: we have to wait for another number One to
: come out or they do a Whole REVAMP a la
: Aquaman...( and he isint doing that good
: either..) So to those masterminds at DC
: please dont be stupid and actully listen to
: what the fans what and bring Back HAWKMAN!!!
