It's really a shame. I've always thought Hawkman was one of the cooler looking characters. And then to find out all of this confusing stuff that I can't even be bothered to figure out... Someone needs to wipe him clean and come up with a streamlined origin and background incorporating the most straightforward elements of the previous ones.
: Wasn't Hawkman's ressurrection in JSA supposed
: to simplify things? Got thetrades and it
: sure as hell didn't! And from what I've
: read on WIkipedia, they've made things worse
: in the solo book! Charley Parker, the star
: of one of my favorite JLS atories is now the
: murderous son of a Thanagarian instead of a
: fan who got lucky? Instead of just Cart and
: Katar in the JLA we now have another Hawkman
: retconned in? Know what? Eventually Carter
: Hall iterations have to be given up on. It
: is WAY too confusing. I think they need to
: go the Tangent route with the name.
: Absolutely, positively start from scratch
: with only the name being the same. Just off
: the top of my head he would be Jack Hall, a
: young man who saw his sister's family
: murdered and dedicated himself to bringing
: their killers to justice. He wears a
: Daredevilesque costume with a hawk motif and
: fights crime in Boston as Hawkman as he
: struggles to find the mysterious Mister
: Small who oredered the hit.
