Here's a nice article that gives you a good idea of what the book is about and gives a brief summary of the first five issues: http://www.comics101.com/?page=C101 If you haven't ever read James Robinson's Starman series, please give it a try. Jack Knight (the hero of the book), is my favorite Starman, and this series is one of the finest I've ever read. It is also one of the most realistic comic book series of all time. It has death, birth, conflict, and deep emotions with severe consequences that everyone in the real world can identify with. In addition, it isn't infinite like Superman and Spiderman, with stories that go on and on and on (not that there's anyting wrong with that). This series is much different, in that it has a definitive beginning, middle and end. A completed story that is rare in these days of the comic book industry. If you do want to give it a try, I would highly recommend you start with Starman #0, not #1. Some fans have mistakenly bought issue #1 believing that it was the first issue of the series. It's not. Issue #0 is the first issue. You can also pick up the trades of the series as well, very cheaply on Ebay. So again, if you're a fan of great comics and you want to read something you haven't tried before, please give this series a shot. You won't be disappointed.
