The book is at times very interesting and cool, but the problem (and it's pretty troubling at least to me) is that every now and then there's a line of dialogue or narration that makes me wonder if the authors (plural!) have a grasp of the English language. Case in point, at one point in 42 the Purple Pilgrim taunts Hawkgirl by saying she shouldn't try to "avoid the inevitable." Well duh, the inevitable can't be avoided, that's the definition of the word. I think what was meant was "prolong the inevitable." But still, geez, Palmiotti and Gray are co writers, and then there's an editor who read that line too, so that's three sets of eyes, and not one of them had a little tingle at that awful line. But at least Palmiotti and Gray aren't Geoff Johns, whose appeal totally escapes me ... Nevertheless an interesting plot. Kill off a character whose basic premise is that he gets reincarnated. I only wonder why Hawkman doesn't get killed more often. :

: I hope you are right. I just got back into
: comics and I was going to check out Hawkman
: because I heard Carter Hall was back and I
: thought DC was starting to get back to it's
: iconic characters. Then they kill Carter and
: Ted Kord. I don't know what to think. If
: they bring Carter back I will check out the
: book. Other than killing Carter, has it been
: good lately?

: I know everyone is upset that they replaced
: Carter Hall with the Golden Eagle whom has
: some pretty shady intentions but fear not
: there was a clue in Hawkman #40 to Carter
: Hall's return.
: In the issue after Hawkman and Dr.Fate
: defeat the inner demon that was destroying
: his memories Cater turn to Dr.Fate and tells
: him "There's one more thing I need from
: you"...we dont see what transpiered
: after that but I think Cater set up his
: death to Flush out his enimies and any
: "Traitors" he might suspect in the
: mist....Carter must have had Dr.Fate prepair
: his soul for another reincarnation or just
: make it look like he was dead...Only to come
: back and Kick some major ass Hawkman
: style!!......Dont belive me go back to issue
: #40 and see for your self....
