The sort of Witches who would have the skills to hex you into oblivion, are not the sort who are going to warn you ahead of time of what they plan to do. Most of the Witches who warn or threaten first are namby-pamby "witches" who rely upon YOU scaring yourself and thusly hexing yourself. Namby-pamby hexes work because the person who is hexed *thinks* that they are hexed and in effect, hexes themelf. This is called 'headology', and is based upon having a person scare themselves to harm. That it works is of course, why namby-pamby people make a lot of noise about how powerful they are and how they can cast spells to hurt people.
That being said, the best offense against a spell cast by namby-pamby wanna-be "wiccans" is to ignore both the spell and also the namby-pamby wanna-be "wiccans". Get the mindset that you KNOW for certain that these folks are silly goofballs whose magick can only hurt you if you let it.... and once you get to that mind-set... POOF. The spell will not hurt you because the hex is rendered powerless.
If you want to help yourself buck up and know that the spell can't hurt you... just use your imagination and FOCUS on being surrounded by a big ball that is mirrored. Focus on the fact that this mirrored ball will act as a "bounce" and reflect whatever silly namby-pamby hexes are sent to you right back to the namby-pamby wanna-be "wiccans" that sent them to you.
