The current rumor, as it has been presented to me, is a badly done re-tread of Bush's remarks made in 1999, with some added rhetoric that isn't very accurate attached to it.
By badly done, I mean that what I've seen misquotes Bush, besides making it sound like the US Government has a process to make religions "Official", which technically there isn't.

He'd have to toss out the constitution completely to totally eradicate all religions except the Judeo-Christian ones.. and doing that, unless he declares marshall law, is going to be hard to do all at once. Beyond saying that, I think that Pagans in general would be well off putting their time and energies and money into supporting existing groups, like the ACLU and Americans United for Separation of Church and State. Those groups have been 'watch-dogging' the US government for years and are pretty dang good at it.

I'd suggest that you read the book: Pagans and the Law – Understand Your Rights by Dana D. Eilers (a really nifty Pagan lawyer) for some good history. For websites I'd suggest:
