A question for Sylvan ..

I only ask you (Sylvan) .. because you are the most experienced one here .. but .. if anyone ELSE knows the answer .. please feel free to jump in .. eeh ?
Anyway .. it goes like this .........
I have an outdoor "sphere" .. that I have been building/re-building for 3 years now .. and it's finally PERFECT. Of course .. I live in an apartment building .. and it's only 10 - 15 feet away from the building itself .. so .. I get NO privacy when I want to do a ritual .. ya know ? I can't stand the idea that 20 - 30 people are peering out their windows at me while I gesture/dance around the sphere .. doing a ritual/casting a spell. It's ALSO .. a little "small" in diameter. I made it 9 feet across .. but would of liked to of made it a bit larger. This was mostly 'cause I didn't have the space to make it larger .. "originally". Since it is so small .. I've never had the gumption to "add" an altar at the center .. and currently have only a stone bench (bought from Menards) .. at the center. *shrugs* It's "O.K." and all .. just NOT what I think is "proper" .. ya know ?
Well .. I have a new opportunity now .. and .. am planning a NEW "sphere" in the woods down below (where I live) .. as soon as the manager gives me the thumbs up to begin.
My question goes something like this .....
Right NOW .. I've got my current sphere laid out with the North stone facing "true North" .. then from there East .. South .. and West respectively. I've always wondered whether or not it would be MORE proper to lay it out in a Pentagram style .. except instead of having 4 directions (points) to deal with .. there would be 5 .. ya know ? Any ideas/suggestions ? If I lay it out pentagram style .. how does THAT work ? And .. in another vein .. I've toyed with the idea of putting/including a firepit in the center .. mostly for "balefires" .. and other occasions where a fire would be appropriate .. *shrugs* Of course .. if I do THAT .. then the center would be taken up .. and the idea of a "proper" altar is moot .. isn't it ? If given the choice .. I'd rather have an altar than a firepit .. but .. (scratches head) .. I don't know. I ALSO like the "idea" of leaving the "center" blank .. so I'd have a good place to do my meditation/visualisation practices .. *shrugs again* .. ya know ? It's all so very confusing (to me). Any help here ? Just curious.
