I hope you were able to follow the idea of the sanity check. Just see if you'd have $10 if you spent that much money and started out at $79.
As for the calculator question:
2.Use your calculator to evaluate each of the following. For your answer record all digits displayed: 12.357+23.85 divided by 21.21-3.47^3
Put the whole numerator in parentheses and the whole denominator in parentheses:
(12.357+23.85)/(21.21-3.47^3)=-1.760020198
