Trying to solve an imaginary numbers problem, but stuck with how to break it down.
Problem: Solve for X, & Y
X+(X+Y)i=3+8i
I got as far as
X+Xi+Yi=3+8i (not very far)The back of the book says the answer is X=3, and Y=5. How did they get these answers?
