Re: Phone numbers of 80's stations Radio Nova 604043 Phone numbers of 80's stations Diamond 192 373105 Re: Phone numbers of 80's stations NRG 103 - 01 606703 ...............but I like it and am interested! Fair play to you Strawberry! Donegal Community Radio (Letterkenny) - 074-24383 and 24561. Radio North (Carndonagh) - 077-74335. WABC (Greencastle, Inishowen, Co. Donegal) - 077-81157 (read out as "eight eleven, fifty-seven"!). Radio 4U (Burnfoot, Co. Donegal - near border with Derry, on-air from mid-'87 to mid-'88) - Used a U.K. mobile no. beginning with the code 0860. I could find out the actual number in time if anyone's really interested! Riverside 101 (came on-air in April 1989) originally also used a U.K. mobile number - 0860 - 630171. Can't remember NWCR's (North West Community Radio, based in Buncrana) number, but it was in the 077 area and began with "6"! I think it began with "61"! Re: This has to be one of the most bizarre threads I've seen so far......... Here is a rare one ERI phone number 397814, was later 96FM's FAX number until they moved studios! Radio West Mullingar (044) 41694 I thought it was 502330 ERI 397814- yes in 1988 "I thought it was 502330" yes they did use that one (I hear it on old recordings) but 397814 was the one used prior to the closure at the end of 1988 and was probably in use 2 or 3 years before that Independent Radio Mayo (094) 23117 or 23484 "Midwest (0907) 30169 (still in use by the legal outfit)" Nowadays they are gone very high tech with an SMS number in addition for text requests ABC Waterford ABC Waterford: 86571 when in Tramore Big L in 13 Ellen St in Limerick was 061-46279. Hits 954 in 99 O'Connell St was 061-42699, but I'm not sure whether it changed when they moved to Cecil St. Actually, those 5-digit numbers look extremely strange nowadays.... Nova's in Rathfarnham: Towards the end - late '85/'86, the studio line was being announced as 932996. I know a guy who has some id cards out of Nova's phone PABX which was left behind after Nova Park became derelict and there were about 15 lines listed, including 'Chris private' - I'd say that would have been worth something when Chris was at the other end of the line! Also, Energy had 606703, 606460, 606422 (the old Magic 103 line which became Energy's sales line) and a few others too. Q only ever announced 1 boring line on their boring radio station..and I shouldn't even be mentioning them in the same email as Nova and Energy! 5 figure numbers looking strange? Atlantic 252!!! Atlantic 252 has used (046) 36677 as their studio number from 1989 till recently. It was always said on air as it would be dialled from the UK: 01 0353 463 6677 or in later years 00353 463 6677 They also had premium rate UK numbers: 0898 252 600 becoming 0891 252 600, then used the newer number 090 11 22 11 33 (I may be wrong on this last one - didn't listen as often when it became 'rhythm and dance'). Their Irish premium rate number was 1550 150 252. 2FMs number in the late 80s was 830222...... AAAAAAAAAAAAAh but what was the number for DAD? 606666 anytime! In the 1985 phone Book - when you had a phonebook for all areas 'outside 01 (Dublin) area', of the ones I could find (I found some of these by accident when looking up others which were not listed!): ERI, 117 Patrick St Cork (021) 509539 West Cork Local Radio, Riverside, Bandon (023) 44011 Big L Radio Cabs, 13 Ellen St Limerick (061) 42424 ABC Sales, Media Advtg, 4 Arundel sq., Waterford City (051) 75620 C.R.W. Radio, 83 Sth Main St. Wexford (053) 24111 C.B.C. Communications, The Westgate Clonmel (052) 23893 Boyneside Radio & TV Donnaghy's Mill Drogheda (041) 31699 notice how some entries were intended to hide the fact the business was a radio station
Really 'sad' (to non-anoraks) posting on a messageboard sometime ago. Not there anymore, thankfully I saved it, so I will post it here!

Some North West (mainly Donegal) pirates:
City Sound Radio - Derry, 1986 - Tel. Derry 260315.
CSR moved to Fahan (beside Buncrana), Co. Donegal in Autumn 1986 and became Radio Nova 2 (changed to Radio Nova in 1987). The original number was 077-60189. This then changed to 077-60313.

The licenced WLR-FM kept their pirate (pre-1989) number also
051-72248
Unfortunately when that area went from 5 to 6 digits a few years ago it had to become:
051-872248
086-6000975
(easy to remember, and ending with the digits of one of their 2 frequencies)
