I'd agree with Barry that Dave Fanning was on Big D - I used to listen to him midnight to 3am in 1978/9 (following the infamous Vincent Stuart aka Vincent Connell who was on 10pm-12).
I got it wrong with Ken Sheehan/R Dublin (does putting in Cooke reveal I'm not a true anorak??)and was dithering between R Scotland and North Sea Int'l for Tony Allen (I remember him talking about both stations when we house-shared in Portmarnock with Robbie).
I was completely wrong-footed by your question on FF's Election Radio in '82. I remember doing a lot of political news at the time for Sunshine, including a snatched i/v with Taoiseach Garret FitzGerald and a proper formal studio i/v with Haughey's FF challenger George Colley - quoted in the Irish Times no less! - but I don't remember 'Election Radio' so that's why I thought it must have been later in the 80's when I'd moved to Africa.
George, do you have any more info on Election Radio? The political hypocrisy at the time was just wonderful!
