I would never use a spool if you woud happen to break an axle it will turn you sideways in front of the sled mabe roll and break alot of stuff
I have used an auburn limited slip a clutch type unit and it worked great but you have to have top of the line brakes to be able to get the tractor to steer the main benifet I found with a rearend like that is it comes off the line much harder but it can give you problems on an incunsestant track
