Public Health Inspectors deal with mould, so a call to the Public Health Inspector should be your first call and have them come out and do an inspection. Public Health inspectors are generally located in the various Municipal Offices around the City. Call Access Toronto at 416-338-0338 and they will be able to give you the number to connect with your local Public Health Inspector.

: I live in a basement apartment.
:
: When I moved in there was no mould to be
: seen. However a few weeks (1-2) in to living
: here I started to cough a lot at night. I
: said there was mould, I could just feel it.
: But I couldn't see it anywhere. Until 2
: weeks ago I found it. It was on the walls of
: my bedroom and on a wall by the front
: door/kitchen area.
:
: I told my landlord and her fix-it guy came
: and told me the wall wasn't damp and there
: was no sign of water damage so it was
: nothing to worry about (this was in the
: bedroom). I insisted I was having
: respiratory problems and if he could look
: into it more I would appreciate it.
: I then moved my bed and found MORE! This is
: right beside where I sleep and so does my
: partner. I was very upset at this point. I
: went over by my front door to look for
: something and found a lot more. I went to
: touch the wall and my finger went through
: it! It's been wet and expanded and now is
: dry enough to crack.
:
: I told my landlord and she said that the
: apartment had been closed up for most of the
: summer and maybe thats why it was mouldy.
: However that is not my concern, I live here
: now! She said she'd drop off a dehumidifier
: this past week but nothing has happened.
:
: Last night I started to feel ill with a sore
: throat and a stuffy nose. I feel pretty
: gross right now and I'm thinking it has to
: do with the apartment.
:
: Where do I go from here?
:
: S.
