True, emails can be dangerous - but either faxing it to the property manager or sending it via registered mail would confirm that you have sent this.
DON'T GO IN PERSON. I say this as somebody who has dealt with an abusive/violent partner.
Contact the Assaulted Women's Helpline (416-863-0511) if you need any more help with this. They can also help you with information/advice if you need to remove any of your personal belongings, etc., from this apt, or any further issues you may have about your lease agreement. (And they do have a website - www.awhl.org)
You are not responsible!

: Does anyone know if I can terminate my
: apartment lease with a formal email to the
: super ? I would go in person to sign, but
: the super sides with my ex that still lives
: there, and I don't want to run the risk of
: bumping into him again as he is violent.

:The Landlord Tenant Board has a proper form
: to terminate a lease. Make sure you provide
: the
: last date of occupancy, full property
: address, sign and date it.
:
: I would give it to the owner in person, so
: there is no confusion latter.
:
: Also I would request confirmation from the
: owner receiving the notice. (you could just
: print a duplicate and have them print their
: name, sign and date it.)
:
: I would not send an email as they may say
: they never recived it.
:
: Note, if you dont give proper notice, you
: can be held responsible for any cost the
: owner faces as a result.
