Together we are strong!

This discussion Board was started about 9 years ago. We have published thousands of postings on items of interest to tenants.
Attempts by malcontents to shut down or discredit this Board - failed..and tenants have an exclusive place to talk about their problems and their successes.
After a few difficult methods of keeping this a clean safe Board (free of the vulgarities and nonsense you see on many blogs or discussion Boards)...our host gave us a moderated board.
This is not the place, however, to get advice or direct information from the FMTA. It is a board for tenants.
You may have noticed that I don't post answers any more. This is related to some issues which I will not discuss here. My appreciation to some of the dedicate dpeople who do post responses to questions here is appreciated.
Our system is still mainly phone based. Our Tenant Hotline answers thousands of calls every year, and has access to intrepretation services. The number to call is 416-921-9494.
Our Outreach Team is at 416-413-9442. We work with buildings dealing with above guideline rent increases, loss of affordable housing, some maintenance issues, and issues around sub metering.

The FMTA remains true to its cause. Our Board, our staff, and our members are committed to achieving a fair system for tenants. We must take on powerful well financed landlord lobby groups (they use our rent money for this purpose)....and Governments and Boards who often don't get it.
It is now time to rev up the engines. The Residential Tenacies Act and the Landlord Tenant Board need to be reformed. There is much work to do. Reform is possible if we work together.
Together we are strong!
And my next post will reveal some exciting news.
