Long story here.
Being Disabled, I required accommodations in both Handicap Parking and having the Bathroom modified, the bathroom needing the Sink raised from 30 inches high to 34 inches and Handle Bars to get into the Shower and one in the Shower.
Before signing the lease, all were offered and agreed to, however, upon signing the lease I was promptly told none would be provided.
Long story short, I fought all the way up to the President and CEO and they reluctantly provided Handicap Parking even though they "FELT" that they were not required to According to Law.
The bathroom modifications were never done and I learned to do without, having great pain in doing so.
Eventually, other Tenants moved in and the same old proverbial run-around was done to them...promising Accommodations in Disabilities and then not delivering.
In their wisdom, they decided that Handicapped Parking was a "Courtesy" and not a "Right," deciding to take handicapped Parking away from everyone...but before this happened, I again tried to get the Bathroom Modifications done.
Soliciting CERA's (Centre for Equality in Rental Accommodations) help, they were successful in getting our Handicapped Parking back, but things happened before they could get my accommodations for the Bathroom.
I was attacked and threatened with Physical Violence...this with the help of a Tenant friend of the Landlords, while I solicited other Disabled Tenants to join CERA.
Needless to say, this Tenant friend of the Landlords accused me of starting fights with other Tenants and that...not only the Landlords Staff were "Deathly Afraid" of me, but this "Boardwalk Tenant Friend" as well. ( Did I mention I'm Disabled and have SEVERE CARDIAC DISEASE?) This Tenant friend of the Landlord...now starts harassing my wife and I, spreading gossip and innuendo around the building about us and starts going after my wife who suffers from Strokes and has Mini-Strokes when under stress. This Tenant Friend of the Landlord...now scares the life out of my wife and I try to stop her from doing things toward her again...I'm then "ASSAULTED" by this Landlord Tenant Friend and put into a "wheelchair" because of the assault (did I mention the Police would not charge this person as the Tape Recording of the assault is NOT a Video Recording?)
Now this Landlord Tenant Friend solicits help from more Landlord Tenant Friends and we are now harassed from leaving and coming from our Apartment and the Landlord now tries to evict me and my wife, claiming this "Deathly Fear" and that I assaulted this Tenant Friend of theirs...with this Landlord Tenant Friend taking the stand...changing her story numerous times...calling a lawyer and announcing that she called a lawyer to seek help in her testimony. Didn't matter that this happened...the Landlords Ace (The Landlord Tenant Board) disregarded the repeated lies, my health, this person and her friends harassing us as we come and leave, etc., found "ME" guilty as charged, but not enough to evict me and orders me to pay the Landlord $150.
Now these Tenant Friends, start charging toward my Wife and I whenever they see us...the Police...they won't do anything about it nor anything about anything.
So...we get to our floor on the elevator..."I'm passing blood" from the previous assault and this Boardwalk Tenant Friends Husband now charges toward my wife to cause her a Stroke. I Video Record it and put myself between him and my Wife as they taunt us to call the Police. Again the Police do nothing and I'm served with an N5 accusing me of attacking them.
Now, this Landlord Tenant Friend is also harassing other Disabled Tenants and proceeds to trash their cars...leaving her calling card by using her own stationary.
Again...the Police do nothing.
Now...because of the calling card this person leaves on Disabled peoples Cars as she trashes their cars...I'm Physically attacked by her and assaulted again...JUST WEEKS AFTER HAVING HEART SURGERY!!!
Again...the Police do nothing. BUT, the Police now decide to call everyone in for Lie Detector Tests...we readily agree to it...but the Tenant Friends refuse.
While this is going on, the Police decide to charge the Landlords Tenant Friend and announce it to her that she's going to be charged...She now runs to the Justice of the Peace and swears out against me and my Wife...we're charged and the Police now decide to NOT charge this person.
We now have to charge this person through the JP's Office and the Landlord? The landlord now serves me and my Wife with an EVICTION, claiming that I...after just having Heart Surgery, assaulted their Tenant Friend (did I mention my wife suffered a stroke when I got assaulted this second time?)
Now, we decide (along with getting our Income Tax Rebate), decide to leave this tenancy as we had no money previously to leave.
I have a Landlord Tenant Board Order, that the landlord is to GIVE our Last Months Rent back to us and the Interest owing us...the Landlord?...refuses to give us the money that is owing us and ignores the Board Order.
So the question is...how do we get our Money owing to us concerning this Landlord and Tenant Board Order...which the landlord was ordered to pay us?
