I would not complain to the LTB as they think they are there to work for the landlords.
I would first call the Tenant Hotline (416) 921-9494.

: Yup, they should only come during a

:
: Maybe explain to them what you just typed
: here and they will comply.
:
: If not, file a complaint with the LTB and
: then bear the wrath of your landord
: afterwards.

: My slumlord likes to post notes on our doors
: late on a Sunday night whenever they feel
: like it, announcing they are coming in to
: all of our apartments for an
: "annual" inspection of the fire
: alarm system, while at the same time they
: want to "check on the overall
: condition" of the unit. The notice
: advises us that they are coming in
: "sometime on Tuesday or Wednesday
: during the day". I just got one again
: yesterday, April 19.
:
: The last time I got one of these
: "annual" notices was late
: November 08. At that time they didn't show
: up on either of the days specified in the
: notice, instead they just stuck another
: notice on our doors the following Sunday
: night announcing that they'd be barging in
: "sometime" between Monday-Friday
: the following week!
:
: I have dogs and cats. Whenever I know they
: might be snooping around my apartment while
: I'm at work, I have to shut my dogs in
: crates all day, plus I have to keep the cats
: shut out of certain rooms during the day,
: and put signs on the doors telling the
: dumblord to keep them closed. Also since I
: only have one evening after work between
: Sunday night and Tues to tidy up the place,
: it's pretty hectic. So these
: "inspections" are a major nuisance
: for me, and IMHO border on harassment.
:
: I checked the RTA and found that when
: slumlords give a 24 hour "right of
: entry" notice, they have to specify the
: date and time of entry. Can this be
: enforced? Is it worth it for me to submit a
: T2 "Application for tenant rights"
: form to at least get them to provide an
: entry time/date and stick to it? Can I also
: mention "interference with enjoyment of
: the premises" in the application?
