If your rental unit was built after 1991, the LL can raise the rent to whatever the market will bear.
This is a rule that irks many small landlords that own older units as it only benefits newer units that have less upgrades and maintenance/heating costs therefore less reason to raise rents.

: Hi All,

: It looks like the Market Rent Units are not
: rent controlled, which means that they might
: go up in price every year (following a 90

:
: Since these units are not rent controlled,
: I'm starting to wonder if our rent of
: $1000.00/month could go up to 1500.00/month
: (or more!) in just a year.
:
: Does anyone know anything about this? Have
: they been known to drastically increase rent
: prices after the end of the first year
: lease?
:
: Cheers,
