Although I also did not agree with the poster, she reacted to a story that made the front page about 3 weeks ago. It was topical and a legitimate concern that public policy might be affected by these undesirable tenants. This is a tenant discussion board and we all don't have to agree about everything...although I have insisted that arguments be presented in a civil manner.

: So you are accusing the Toronto Star of
: "right wing propaganda"? Did you
: read the article? Do you read the Star on a
: regular basis? The Star is the most left
: leaning of the major papers and regularly
: has articles on tenant rights and the poor
: conditions in many buildings. The tenants in
: this article were ridiculous scammers and
: highlighting this does nothing to belittle
: everyone else in society who rents. There
: are so many legitimate things you could
: focus on this is my first time visiting the
: site and seeing this rant does not do much
: for credibility.

: The Toronto Star seems to go in waves from
: time to time publishing 'Tenants from hell'
: horror stories as they have done again
: today.
:
: Usually after a few of these they are
: followed by an editorial calling for an end
: to rent control for the sake of tenants!
: What right wing propaganda.
:
: The phrase 'Tenants from hell' demonizes all
: tenants and is used by landlord lobbyists
: for that purpose.
:
: We need to write to the Star
: lettertoed@thestar.ca to point this out and
: that these stories are not acceptable.
:
: They need to make up for this lack of
: balance. How about a weekly column on
: tenants affairs by the Federation of Metro
: Tenants' Associations?
:
: The Star may be promoting this because some
: of their biggest advertisers are landlords
: and developers but then half of all their
: readers are tenants and we need to remind
: them of that with lots of letters to the
: editor right away.
