Im not sure if this belongs here, but thanks to my gilbert chemestry set I have found out what black powder fouiling is made from. You can make your own by fring a ball or mixing.....
61% potassium carbonate
15% potassium sulfate
14.45% potassium sulfide
0.22% potassium thiocyanate
0.27% potassium nitrate
0.74% ammonium carbonate
8.74% sulphur
0.08% carbon
After mixing up a batch you can rub it all over your rifle (or musket) and no one will blame you for cursing or collecting black patches. This stuff is ideal to give to an enemy for Christmas.
