Posted by Beau Bonneau Casting Open Call for "Exactly Like You" Feature Film Who: Seeking FTM Transgender or Butch Actors, Non-actors or Musicians, Mid 20s - 30 years old What: Open Call Auditions for the lead role of "Dorothy/Billy" in the Feature Film "Exactly Like You," inspired by Billy Tipton�s life. When: Sunday, March 12 from 12:00 noon � 4:00 p.m. Where: Beau Bonneau Casting Studios "Exactly Like You" is being directed by Silas Howard (By Hook or By Crook, What I Love About Dying) and produced by Effie Brown (But I'm a Cheerleader, In The Cut, Real Women Have Curves). Filming will require a two to three month commitment, beginning approximately in May 2006. Synopsis: This is a story about a man's pursuit of music, women and fame only to risk it all to protect the one thing he couldn't share; Billy was born Dorothy. This precious secret served as his entre to the world of fame but keeping it could cause him to lose it all. Initially we meet Billy as an awkward girl under the thumb of a domineering mother. Music, and the piano become his world - this is where Billy finds true peace and acceptance. Soon Billy's need to please his mother manifests in a burning desire for fame. Billy finds a new family in the sultry, luminous underground world of the smoke filled, booze overflowing, "anything goes" cabarets in the late '30's. It is here where musical improvisation becomes the intersection of freedom and creativity. When Nonearl, a wild child and ex-dance marathon celebrity, shows Billy how "clothes make the man" all the pieces fall into place and a handsome reinvented Billy enters the world.
