This would cement him into the mature heroic leader role, give him a supporting cast, and complicate his life immeasurably. Yay! Now, who do we make the mother? Gamora is the most obvious choice at the moment, being his sometime lover. That could be cool. But I think a more fun possibility would be Namorita. Yes, I know she's dead, but it would be very easy to retcon her into having his lovechild. Soon after her change to Kymaera, she was kidnapped by a mad scientist who wanted her to breed superhuman children (MCP 155-8). Or the long months she was imprisoned by Protocol (NW 55-75). One little mindwipe is all it takes.

Richard Rider has finally grown up and embraced his responsibilities as Nova Prime. Wahoo! So, naturally, he needs complications to his personal life, and even more conflicting responsibilities....
Just thinking aloud of ways to make this a long-lasting, top-tier book.

(Hey, maybe a Planet Hulk-style invasion of earth led by Nova! That'd be cool!)
