A mysterious stranger (unclear if it's a mystic, time traveler, or alien) grants Rich powers that mimic a sun (gravity, heat, light, and throw in strength), saying that he's doing it to Rich can save the world at an upcoming pivotal moment. Trouble is the stranger is killed before he can explain ANYTHING, so Rich has to discover what his powers are and what the upcoming disaster is all on his own. 2) or have Nova be a female character with super speed. Use another 616 character name to make it complete even, like maybe Cassie Lang or something.
