If this message is aimed at me then I find your remark equally insulting. No one calls me a "dick". I'm a very loyal Nova fan, as well as an Sci-fic fanatic. As is I happen to like all aspects of the genre and respect most viewpoints. I suggest that you retract your comment and visit this forum like any other good natured Nova fan with a open mind and note that all who use this thread have a right to voice an opinion whether you agree with it or not that is also the right of any respected individual. As it I don't like arguements but I do win a lot of them! As is. A fellow Nova fan did have an idea of doing a Nova/Aliens fan fic and whether the Aliens, Borg are hive-mind or not is neither here or there. Anyway. That's my bit. Have a nice night!!

: I find your tone insulting, and also don't
: think you bothered to read the thread. Were
: you trying to sound like a dick, or am I
: misunderstanding?
: --Previous Message--
: So if lets say some kind Nova fan was to do
: say a storyline where Nova encounters the
: Aliens..now does that mean you wouldn't like
: it because they're also a hive-mind?

: You're right about the Borg Phalanx thing, I
: was referring to the hive-mind concept in
: Sci-fi. It's been around forever! Star Trek
: TNG rarely had a new thought, SF wise, just
: painted characters on established SF
: themes/premises.
:
: Conquest appears to be doing that with such
: blatancy, it is part of the tale. Homage, if
: you will. Personally, I'm enjoying the hello
: out of it!

: Just enjoy the story and stop your whining
: folks! They are actually doing a pretty
: interesting take on the whole hive-mind
: thing, and it was around long before Star
: Trek jumped onto it.
:
:
: Didn't the Phalanx xome along long AFTER the
: Borg? Plus, I've been wondering what
: happened to the whole thing where they were
: a creation on Earth of humans and Warlock's
: techno-cirus mutating each other? Wasn't
: that the whole point of the original
: crossover they starred in, that they had to
: keep the Phalanx from contacting anyone off
: world and spread that way? If memory
: serves, they succeeded at that.
:
:
: And besides, the whole conquest is a take on
: various archtypes--Wraith and the Man with
: no name, Starlord and the Dirty Dozen,
: etc.--let's see where they go with the whole
: thing!!!
