To answer your question I've checked the Annihilation Prologue entry for the Wave's passage through the empires. I do happen to love Astronomy (helps when you're contemplating doing Nova cosmic stories as I'm a stickler for facts so here's a brief lecture:
The Kree, Shi'ar and Skrull empires are all located in seperate galaxies which together form a "collective of galaxies" called the Local Group so yes they are huddled together, though bear in mind they are seperated by vast tracts of interstellar space.
The Kree empire resides in the Greater Magellanic Cloud some 179.000 light years away rom our Milky Way galaxy classed as a Irregular galaxy.
Xandar as well as the Skrull Empire (what's left of it) is in Andromeda; a spiral galaxy is 2.5 million light years away while the Shi'ar Imperiumn is located in M-31..But that's a bit confusing as M-31 is the classification for Andromeda! Also note. It took Nova a whole 12 minutes!! to travel the distance from Earth/Milky Way to the Greater Magellenic Cloud/Kree Empire using wormhole insertion and considering that in a recent article I read about two scientists in Germeny who have managed to jump photons between two light prisms almost instantaneously "faster than the speed of light/ or so they claimed" using a strand of science called Quantum Tunneling. This may prove to be a very big kick in the teeth for Einstein's EMC'2 because in theory Faster than Light travel isn't possible..but if the results of this experiement are proven it may one day become a reality to do something that Nova can do; with a bit of help from the Worldmind doing the maths!
